What is an “Interest Free Period”?

An interest free period is a certain number of days during which the credit card issuer does not charge you interest or finance charges on your purchases.

If you pay your balance in full before the free period expires, you will avoid incurring fees on your account. If the credit card company does not offer a free period, you may be charge interest on each transaction from the time it is posted to your account. Companies that do offer a free period must mail you your bill 14 days before the period ends.
