Prepaid Debit Card

Prepaid debit cards are plastic cards purchased by a consumer for a specific amount. Also known as gift cards, they carry the cash value the consumer paid for them. Usually prepaid debit cards are sold in designated amounts, such as $25, $50 or $100. They may be issued by a particular retailer for use in that store, or they may be issued by a credit company for broader use.
